Welcome to Mars, Jonathan Clauss!

Olympique de Marseille today announced the signing of French international Jonathan Clauss from Racing Club de Lens. The 29-year-old right-back signed a 3-year contract with the Olympian club after the success of his medical examination.

Born in Strasbourg on September 25, 1992, Jonathan has experienced a gradual rise to the top international level, from the National 3 to the French team in less than 7 years.

Passed by the US Raon-l’Etape, the US Avranches and Quevilly-Rouen, he joined the Bundesliga 2 in 2018 under the colors of Arminia Bielefeld. In Germany, he will play 65 games and will actively participate in his club’s rise to the Bundesliga, during the 2019-2020 season with 5 goals and 10 assists in all competitions.

The following summer, his good performances allowed him to join RC Lens in Ligue 1 Uber Eats. In the North, he continues his momentum: 78 games, 11 goals and 18 assists and has been named a member of the standard team in the championship for the last two seasons. On March 17, 2022, he was selected for the French team for the first time by Didier Deschamps.

A true straight piston, capable of repeating efforts in his lane, he has the ideal profile to fit into Igor Tudor’s playing scheme. Jonathan Clauss will provide all his energy and determination to enable the club to achieve its objectives.
