Here are the likely line-ups for tomorrow’s (5.45pm) FA Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool.
In search of a new trophy with Chelsea after the Club World Cup at the start of the year, Thomas Tuchel can count on an almost complete squad against Liverpool this Saturday in the FA Cup final. Still deprived of Ben Chilwell and Callum Hudson-Odoi (injured), the German coach could also field a redesigned midfielder. With N’Golo Kanté back from injury and Matteo Kovacic injured in the ankle against Leeds, Jorginho and Ruben Loftus-Cheek should inherit the starting places. Scorer this week, Romelu Lukaku will also have a shot to play at the forefront of the Blues attack.
Opposite, no big surprise. To make up for Fabinho’s absence in midfield, Jürgen Klopp should bring Jordan Henderson down a notch behind his two recuperators Keita and Thiago. In attack, Colombian Luis Diaz should still be favored over Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.
The probable compositions:
Chelsea: Mendy – Azpilicueta, Silva, Rüdiger – James, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek, Alonso – Mount, Havertz, Lukaku
Liverpool: Alisson – Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Konaté (or Matip), Robertson – Keita, Henderson, Thiago – Salah, Mané, Diaz
