The heart of the UAE Team Emirates team resumed the race after his accident on Thursday during the 18th stage.
More fear than harm. New Zealand Team BikeExchange Jayco rider Jack Bauer crashed as the peloton raced along during the 18th stage of the Tour de France on Thursday (July 21st). Nils Eekhoff, of the DSM formation, is unwittingly at the origin of this incident. After braking abruptly, the Dutch rider lost his balance, touching a motorcycle in front of him, before embracing the bitumen, a hundred meters in front of Jack Bauer.
Close to the rider, the UAE Team Emirates car had to “crush” to avoid taking any risks. The New Zealand rider was then between the trunk of the UAE car and a press motorbike. Unbalanced, Bauer finished on the ground, before getting up and shouting at those responsible for this uncontrolled movement. Despite some bruises, however, he was able to resume the race.
