Strasbourg in the playoffs: the robbery of the SIG!

Strasbourg is touched by grace and will take part in the 2023 Betclic ELITE playoffs. The SIG Strasbourg was badly embarked and was the team which had the least chance of rallying the playoffs but the Strasbourg residents did it and won on the floor of the Chorale de Roanne (88-92). His main opponents Paris and Gravelines-Dunkerque lost to Boulogne-Levallois (93-85) and Nancy (88-93).

The most unlikely scenario has happened. However, the Maritimes fought to the end before folding in overtime under the battering of Stéphane Gombauld (16 points and 4 rebounds) and the Nancy and will long regret the bowl of Szilard Benke in the last minute. Relegation at the beginning of November at the time of the first international break, the SIG managed to sublimate itself once again by stealing the 8th and last place for the playoffs. In the playoffs, the SIG will find AS Monaco and Mike James for a remake of the quarter-finals of last season where the Roca Team came close to correctional.

Boulogne-Levallois will find Cholet, ASVEL will struggle with Le Mans

Under the eyes of Kyllian Mbappé, PSG star or actor Omar Sy, Victor Wembanyama shone again (18 points at 9/14 on shots and 9 rebounds) with the Metropolitans 92 against Paris Basketball (93-85) to secure the 2^e position in the ranking. In the playoffs, the Parisians will find Cholet Basket, an opponent who defeated them five days rather late in the game. Laurent Vila’s men lost in Béarn (85-81) for the last of Élan Béarnais in Betclic ELITE. Giovan Oniangué performed well with 18 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists.

ASVEL won again at Ekinox. The French champion offered himself a new success (85-82) against a team from JL Bourg which made them suffer. The Rhone club once again relied on Nando De Colo (18 points at 7/10 on shots and 5 assists) to secure third place in the standings which allows them not to finish in the same part of table than AS Monaco. In the playoffs, TJ Parker’s men will find the MSB. Les Manceaux won against Nanterre (88-74). The Sarthois find the playoffs, a year after missing them. Finally, in the other meetings of the evening, the JDA Dijon lost on the floor of the ESSM Le Portel (89-75) yet deprived of Nadir Hifi. The Portel nugget was punished by his club after missing several training sessions. In the standings, the Burgundians finish in 4^e place and will face JL Bourg. For its part, Fos-sur-Mer failed to win for its last in the ELITE against Limoges CSP (73-77).
