PSG’s collector’s jersey after its 10th title makes OM fans laugh

FOOTBALL – The Champions League is still resisting in Paris, but PSG still adds a star to its jersey. The club decided this Friday, April 29 to display a golden one above its logo until the end of the season, to celebrate its tenth title of champion of France.

PSG announced that it was going to market “throughout the world by May 21”, this collector’s jersey which also features the year of the championships won, around the crest.

It will be worn for the first time by the players on Friday, in Strasbourg, on behalf of the 35th day of Ligue 1, as well as during the last three meetings of 2021-2022. This is the first communication from the capital club on this symbolic subject, which has its rivalry with Marseille in the background.

The mocking Marseille supporters

OM proudly displays a star above its crest to recall its title in the Champions League in 1993, a competition that the Qatari owners of PSG dream of winning for the first time. But again this year, PSG failed in the quarter-finals.

Failing to have won the C1 this season, the club of the capital consoled itself with a tenth title of champion of France. Kylian Mbappé’s teammates were crowned last weekend four days from the end, after their draw against Lens (1-1).

This victory gives him the opportunity to add a distinctive sign to his jersey – even if in France, there are no regulations on the issue. PSG therefore opted for a star, which made Marseille supporters howl of laughter, who did not hesitate to mock their Parisian rivals on Twitter.

Before PSG, only Saint-Étienne has reached the bar of ten championships won. The Greens wear a tricolor star on their jersey to commemorate this glorious past.
