While the six drivers were definitely known since the end of May and the revelation of the final livery of the Peugeot 9X8, the French manufacturer confirmed on Wednesday their distribution in the two cars entered in the 6 Hours of Monza on July 10. Paul di Resta, Mikkel Jensen and Jean-Éric Vergne will thus be associated in the n°93, while James Rossiter, Gustavo Menezes and Loïc Duval will drive together in the n°94.
“The training of these crews for the first event at Monza is the result of multiple test sessions, data analysis, driving and individual affinities. During the design and development of 9X8, everyone brings much-needed experience, technical sensibility and team spirit to the program.”explains Olivier Jansonni, Technical Director of the Endurance Program at Peugeot Sport.
Peugeot seems to have chosen to associate drivers who know each other well. Jean-Éric Vergne and Mikkel Jensen have already driven in the same car at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in G-Drive’s Aurus 01-Gibson in 2020 in the LM P2 category. Loïc Duval and James Rossiter, for their part, rubbed shoulders for several years in single-seaters, particularly in Super Formula.
