This Tuesday, the TFC was on the lawn of Tajonar for its fifth friendly match of the summer. The Toulouse were hooked by Osasuna, a La Liga club, 3-3. Fares Chaïbi, Nathan Ngoumou and Naatan Skyttä are the three Toulouse scorers. Here is our analysis of the meeting.
Chaïbi, an increasingly serious option
Hyper decisive since the beginning of the preparation, the Pitchoun never ceases to impress. He was again the author of a goal and a great assist for Ngoumou, and even came very close to a double. Very active, able to project himself as well as to do the job for recovery, he was above all essential in the animation of Tèf, always fair and intelligent in his movements. A profile that Toulouse did not really have. Even if a rookie should arrive in the midfield, it’s hard not to get excited and not hope to see him appear on the lawn of the Stadium against Nice, in a little over two weeks.
A disappointing second half
As much as a few sequences of the first period were interesting, the second did not offer us much, the rare Toulouse occasions depending on individual inspirations, such as that of Ratao on the Skyttä goal. If the changes to the hour of play could destabilize the team, Osasuna is less advanced in its preparation and the freshness of the entrants should have been felt. Some difficulties glimpsed last season, in particular the ball outings against pressing teams, were confirmed during these two confrontations in Spain. There is still time, but it will also be necessary to create a connection with Dallinga, precious punctually by his participation in the game, but who still seems tender.
A hierarchy of goalkeepers not yet established, but a slight trend
It was announced, Maxime Dupé kept the cages against Real Sociedad and Kjetil Haug kept them against Osasuna. The first was illustrated with several parades and a clean sheet, while the Norwegian conceded three goals, without being much asked elsewhere. The three goals would have required a feat to be saved. It’s hard to blame him for not having performed miracles, but Haug therefore did not score any points, even if he was able to show himself on a few interesting outings and raises.
The notes of Toulouse (only those who have played at least 45 minutes):

5.5/10: Diarra, Sylla, Mvoue
