Yesterday opened the Pro Am of the Montauban Ladies Open (MLO), which precedes the individual golf tournament which takes place from June 10 to 12 at the Estang golf course.
For this third edition, 2,000 visitors are expected on the Montalban site. Particularity of this year, the prizes went from 40,000 € to 42,500 €, in a desire to progress and to reward the winner even more consistently. The help made available to the players is not only financial or intended for the winner. Indeed, the players are particularly assisted in transport or even catering. The Estang golf course has been set up for the occasion, with several dining and rest areas.
“The tournament makes Montauban shine, already from a golfing point of view but also from a European point of view”, explains Patrick Verel, promoter of the event. The MLO is indeed part of the Ladies European Tour Access Series (LETAS). Registered on the official calendar, the tournament is automatically guaranteed to receive a certain number of professional players. This year, the five continents are represented, with 104 international participants from around thirty countries.
“I wanted an international women’s sporting event” says Patrick Verel on the origins of the MLO. With Bruno Rebeuh and his 15 years of experience in golf, they therefore founded this tournament in 2018. This event, in addition to making the city known, also makes Montalban’s economy work, between catering, housing and transportation of players.
The Pro Am which takes place before the individual competition makes it possible to include the MLO partners as much as possible. Team tournament, each group represents a company, supported by a professional player and three amateurs.
The official competition takes place from June 10 to 12 and consists of an individual tournament that is played over three rounds.
