Men’s tennis roundup: NLS Wildcats have success – West Central Tribune

MONTEVIDEO — All three pairs of New London-Spicer doubles finished in first place in the West Central Conference Individual Tournament on Friday.

In doubles No. 1, Jack Barney and Ethan Sports went 3-0. In doubles No. 2, Josh Soto and Sam Gamez finished 3-0. In doubles No. 3, Jackson Barber and Austin Okuly posted a 3-0 record.

No. 2 singles Jowell Gamez also took the top spot. He ended his day with a 3-0 record.

Litchfield went 1-1 at the St. Cloud Triangle.

Litchfield lost their opener to St. Cloud, 5-2, but bounced back to win 5-2 against Alexandria.

Dragons eldest Alex Draeger won both of his No. 1 singles matches in straight sets. He beat Gavin Fenstad of St. Cloud and Owen Gilbertson of Alexandria.

In doubles No. 3, Alex Nelson and Mathias Bruning won both of their matches. Their match against St. Cloud’s Ben Marohl and Jacob Vogel ended in a third set, where Nelson and Bruning won with a 14-12 tiebreaker.

Litchfield plays Fairmont at 1 p.m. Monday at the Fairmont.
