Lucy Li keeps the lead, superb card from Céline Herbin!

The young prodigy Lucy Li retained the top spot in the standings with 18 holes to go at the Dana Open. With her very good card under par, Céline Herbin has gained many places in the standings.

The course of Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio suffered this Saturday. Of the 75 players present after the cut, only 12 of them played over par. This is obviously not the case for the leader of the tournament Lucy Li.

The American, sensation of the US Women’s Open 2014 at 11 years old, however, had a difficult start to the game with bogeys at 1 and 7.

But the double winner on theEpson Tower this season relaunched with a birdie at 8 before making a comeback in 32 synonymous with a card of 67 (-4) which allows him to keep control by the smallest of gaps.

Thompson and Masson in ambush

The 19-year-old is now being followed by Lexi Thompson and Caroline Masson after their excellent cards of 65 (-6).

Lydia Ko is also well placed despite its two bogeys of the day. The Kiwi returned the best score of the day (64).

Ko is in fourth place, three lengths behind the leader. A position she shares with six other players, including the defending champion NASA Hataoka or the Irish Leona Maguire. The last lap should therefore give rise to a festival of birdies.

Nice comeback for Herbin

Among the beautiful perfs of the day, let us point out that of Celine Herbin. Starting from 10, the 39-year-old golfer started with two bogeys on her first three holes, but the Frenchwoman quickly stopped the bleeding with two birdies on the next three holes.

Much more precise on its attacks on greens (15 greens hit), it was on the last 9 that Herbin managed to set the sights with six new birdies including 4 on the last 4 holes!

His 65 (-6) of the day allows him to climb to 27th place.
