Looking for a left-back in the transfer window, OL are still hoping to sign Nicolas Tagliafico from Ajax Amsterdam.
On Tuesday, Olympique Lyonnais supporters went through all the emotions in Nicolas Tagliafico’s case. First, the newspaper L’Equipe announced a total agreement and the imminent arrival of the Argentinian international, for whom an agreement was reached with Ajax Amsterdam for almost two weeks. Then, the Dutch press conditioned everyone in this period of heat wave by making it known that Nicolas Tagliafico was in no hurry to make his decision and that for the time being, he was still waiting to see if an English or Spanish club would position on him. Despite some fears, it seems that OL are holding the right end in the case leading to the 29-year-old defender. Indeed, according to L’Equipe, Bruno Cheyrou traveled in person to Argentina to convince Nicolas Tagliafico.
Tagliafico is very difficult to convince
If I had been told the day after the 38th day that we would close Lacazette, Tolisso, Tagliafico, Lepenant and that we would keep Tetê I would not have believed it
Bets, guys to raise, it might not work but on paper… hard to sulk frankly

During their first meeting with the player, the leaders of OL did not sense in Nicolas Tagliafico a mad obsession with the idea of joining the Rhône. But the second meeting in Argentina with Bruno Cheyrou tipped the scales and Nicolas Tagliafico was hardly convinced to join the capital of Gaul. After a long period of hesitation, the player, who hoped for a club qualified – at least – for the Europa League, finally agreed to join OL, where a three-year contract awaits him. In all likelihood and unless there is a final twist, Nicolas Tagliafico will become Olympique Lyonnais’ fourth recruit after Corentin Tolisso, Alexandre Lacazette and Johann Lepenant. Good news for Peter Bosz, who was actively looking for the rare pearl in this left-back position after the departure of Emerson Palmieri, back from loan at Chelsea. Actively followed, Nantes Quentin Merlin will not join OL. At least not this summer, the Rhone club continuing to observe the player of the French team hopes, why not with a view to next season.
