Zapping Goal! soccer club Real Madrid, FC Barcelona: top 10 most capped players in the Champions League
Antoine Griezmann returned to Atletico Madrid last summer because FC Barcelona weren’t counting on him and wanted to make room in their payroll. The French striker was therefore loaned with a purchase option to Colchoneros. While a permanent transfer of Griezmann to Madrid is highly likely at the end of the loan, this agreement could allow the Catalan club to recruit another striker.
According to information from “El Chiringuito“, if Griezmann were to stay at Atlético Madrid, this would necessarily lead to the departure of Spanish striker Alvaro Morata. The latter could go to FC Barcelona who have already tried to bring him during the winter transfer window 2022 even if Juve has control of this file since it must decide before June 15 if it keeps it against 35 million euros.
Mateu Alemany and Miguel Gil Marin already met last night to discuss this subject in a posh restaurant. In addition, journalist Dario Montero reports that there is a clause in the agreement between the two clubs for Griezmann which allows him to stay on loan for another year in Madrid. This can be triggered by both parties.
