AS Monaco formalized the signing of American Jaron Blossomgame on Tuesday. The best position 4 of the EuroCup has signed up for one season, plus another one as an option.

After the extensions of Mike James, Alpha Diallo, Donatas Motiejunas and Donta Hall and the arrivals of Jordan Loyd, Élie Okobo and John Brown, AS Monaco formalized the signing of de Jaron Blossomgame (1.98 m, 28 years old) for the 2022-2023 season. He has signed a contract for one season, plus another one as an option.

“I knew that my profile interested them,” he says on the official website of the Roca Team. “My agent was in contact with the club and he kept me informed of the progress of the discussions as they progressed. I was therefore aware of their interest throughout the previous exercise. I was following their journey in the Euroleague closely, with this fine performance of failing only one match in the Final Four. And for the coming year with the new signings of recent days, we can see that the club has very big ambitions. And I want to be part of a team that works tirelessly, of a group that promotes the culture of winning, in a healthy environment. Because of my fairly versatile profile, I think it will coordinate with what Sasa Obradovic wants to put in place, and his basketball philosophy. I am very excited to be part of the team and to play at the highest level.

I watched the Euroleague a lot, and I know it’s very competitive. The formations are of a very high standard and play beautiful basketball. I’m really happy to take up this challenge. I hope we can capitalize on last year’s fine run to keep Monaco among the top teams in the Euroleague. When I see the squad, I’m optimistic. Mike James and Elie Okobo are monsters. […] It’s an incredible team. Key players have been retained, and new ones have great potential to contribute. The ambitions are clearly high. Last year, they exceeded their expectations by earning the respect of the whole of Europe after an incredible series against Olympiakos. With this job done by the leaders in the off-season, we clearly know where we want to be. »

EuroCup Best Position 4

Apart from an episode of 27 NBA appearances with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2018/19, the native of Atlanta (where he grew up 20 minutes from Jordan Loyd) has mainly played in the G-League in his first three career seasons (127 matches, champion in 2018 with Austin), before crossing the Atlantic in the summer of 2020. After a successful season in Israel at the Ironi Nahariya (17.7 points at 52.3% shooting success, 6.4 rebounds and 0.8 against in 33 minutes), he joined Ulm in Germany. There, he dominated (16 points at 50.6% and 6.1 rebounds in 32 minutes), with in particular a peak at 30 evaluation against JL Bourg, to the point of being retained in the ideal five of the EuroCup season.

Athletic 4-3 position, formidable in transition and strong shooter (39.1% 3-point success on 4.2 attempts per game in 2021-2022), he will discover the EuroLeague for the first time in his career.
