Christophe Galtier and Luis Campos have decided to readjust PSG’s preparation before the Champions Trophy on July 31 against Nantes, by shortening the tour to Japan.
PSG will leave Japan earlier than expected. In view of the difficult weather conditions due to the heat (30 degrees on average since the arrival in Tokyo) and the humidity (70% minimum), the club has decided to modify its program to optimize its preparation for the Champions Trophy scheduled for July 31 in Tel Aviv, against Nantes.
Back in Paris next Tuesday
The Parisian players will finally make their return next Tuesday in Paris, in the wake of the last match of the tour in Osaka against Gamba (Monday noon, French time). They were originally scheduled to leave the Land of the Rising Sun on Thursday. Training will be scheduled as soon as they arrive in Paris, before taking off for Israel on July 29. These decisions were taken by sports adviser Luis Campos in agreement with Christophe Galtier.
The Parisian players joined Japan last weekend after their first friendly match against Quevilly-Rouen (2-0). The players lend themselves to many marketing operations and also train in a beautiful popular fervor. They will play three friendly matches against Kawasaki Frontale this Wednesday in Tokyo (12:30 p.m. French time), the Urawa Red Diamonds on Saturday in Saitama (12 p.m.), then against Gamba Osaka on Monday July 25 (12 p.m.).
Their first official meeting of the 2022-2023 season is therefore scheduled for July 31 against Nantes, during the Champions Trophy. They will face a week later, Clermont, during the first day of Ligue 1, Saturday August 6 (9 p.m.) in Auvergne.
