ASSE will have to fine-tune a workforce which has clearly regained its colors during the calendar year 2023. Among Laurent Batlles’ projects, that of the pistons remains the most important. However, after releasing the checkbook during the month of January, the club would have very limited means.

Sniff out the good moves

It has become a habit at ASSE, the club will have to sniff out the good moves, because it does not have colossal means. Especially since this 2022-2023 season, the club’s budget was around 30 million euros and it will be reduced for the 2023-2024 season. Savings will be made at all levels.

With regard to the second part of the season, the decision-makers from Saint-Etienne want to ride the momentum. This transfer window will be that of adjustment and no longer that of construction as during last summer. For this, ASSE is trying to convince Jean-Philippe Krasso to renew his adventure at ASSE with a new proposal that is very correct and in line with the league 2 championship.

Also, the two pistons Niels Nkounkou and Mathieu Cafaro are loaned with option to buy. The first is unanimous and told the Saint-Etienne management that it was in favor of extending its adventure in Forez. His option to buy between 2 and 3 million would be a big investment for the club. For the second, opinions are divergent within the club to prolong the adventure of the player. You will have to pay 500,000 euros if you want to go all the way with the Standard de Liège player. The player is also in favor of continuing the adventure in Forez.

Good news from Brest

ASSE has loaned Madhi Camara to Brest with a mandatory purchase option in the event of maintenance. The Breton club will fight to the end to save themselves in Ligue 1. Nevertheless, Stade Brestois is in a favorable situation for this. Indeed, Eric Roy’s men have a 5-point lead and a particularly favorable goal average with three rounds remaining.

In view of the situation and barring disaster, the SB29 will play in the elite next season. The club will therefore exercise the option to buy the Saint-Etienne midfielder trained at the club, which amounts to around 3 million euros according to information from the Team.

This envelope could help finalize the recruitment of Niels Nkounkou and have a very small envelope to consider some alterations for the rest of the transfer window! All in all, good news that is taking shape for the future of ASSE!
