“According to the first medical examinations, it seems that I have several torn ligaments in my right foot. I will fly to Germany on Monday to undergo further examinations and determine the best and fastest way to treat myself, ”explained the world number 3 on Instagram, without giving more details on his recovery.
Forced to leave the court in a wheelchair
The 25-year-old German player had to leave the center court of Roland-Garros in a wheelchair after twisting his right ankle during a slip from the baseline. He had returned on crutches to confirm his abandonment, after several minutes of stoppage of play.
“I will keep you informed as much as possible of developments”, assures the tall right-hander (1.98 meters). During the night, he had mentioned a “very serious injury”. “I want to thank everyone, all over the world, for the warm messages I have received since yesterday (Friday).
