OM would have done well without this episode. Just after the 2-0 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the first day of the Champions League group stage, Marseille fans created incidents by throwing projectiles and smoke bombs at opposing fans and security forces, in addition to tearing down a banner. OM faces sanctions from UEFA, which has also opened an investigation. We also learn by The Athletic that 5 Marseille supporters were arrested and that a policeman was injured during the arrest. A press release was issued by law enforcement.
